Best Dam Run for Autism 2009

The AJ Foundation held its’ Annual 10K, 5K Run for Autism at Peace Valley Park in Chalfont on May 30, 2009. We were so fortunate to have beautiful weather again. We were very excited about the outcome and seeing many familiar faces from the previous races.

Our 10K boasted a multitude of serious athletes but ultimately Scott Brockett, age 45, came in at 37:19 as our overall male winner. Laura Moreno, age 28, was our overall female winner with a time of 43:01. Our 5K winners included Nick Scarpello, age 17, our overall male winner, with a time of 17:48 and Alison Schwalm, age 31, our overall female winner, with a time of 19:53. Congratulations to all our runners!!!!

This year six of our children from The Comprehensive Learning Center participated in our race. Connor Feeney, Colin McHale and Alexis Presti did the 1 mile Fun Run while three of our older students, Dan Lehner, AJ Corless and Ivy Coyle took on the 5K. We are so proud of their efforts!!!

The day was a wonderful success having raised over $7,700.00!!! As always, we must thank all our participants: runners, walkers, family and friends for showing us continued love and support. A special thank you our timers from Pretzel City Sports and to Nanette Kardaszeski for the wonderful pictures.
